| . : Roll Cage construction Begins and New Project Renders |
11.22.2005 |
|
With a long holiday weekend approaching, I plan to have the external tubing of the Roll Cage case
welded and photographed. This means that come next week, there will be actual images of the real case
rather than renders. Let me tell you, just cutting the pipe and laying out the shapes has excited me. The
tubing looks exactly as the renders depict it (still bare metal).
While attending a class out of town a few weeks back, I was commuting early one morning when another
case idea popped into my head. I have preliminary renders of the case and posted them as part of the new
project "Deco". Please take a look if you would like.

| . : Updated Renders for Roll Cage |
10.20.2005 |
|
As construction time nears, I have been working heavily on making more accurate renders of the Roll Cage
case. This includes trying to represent the sizes of components, sizes and types of fans, and overall layout.
There have been a few changes, gone are the analog automotive gauges. The amount of effort to get them working
properly has not produced appropriate results. These have been replaced by a panel which will allow me to
overclock and monitor appropriate devices. I have also changed the diameter of the tubing that I am using for the
chassis. It is now 1.5", rather than 1". Through consulting with friends and family, it was determined that this
gave the case a look more representative of its name. Finally, there is a render of the inside of the case with a
description of the different components.
Please check out the project pages or go straight to the update.

| . : Time to stop procrastinating! |

I am sorry, I have been a bit distracted!!!
It has obviously been several months since I have updated my website. Life has been pretty hectic. For example,
I have been out of town on business for 2 of the last 4 weeks. I would be out of town today, but the event was
cancelled. So, I have actually been able to catch up at work and home.
Another little issue was the car wreck I was in on the 23rd of September. It left me uninjured, but without a
car to get back and forth to work with.
Finally, I have been having some very interesting issues with the Rat Rod pc. It all started when I took it to
a lan party. The computer decided it didn't want to work the entire evening. I checked connections, ran stress
tests on the hardware looking for errors. Nothing. I get it home and all the issues disappear. Okay, not a big
deal, but frustrating. Now, fast forward 6 weeks. I'm getting ready to fire up BF42 and join my clan mates in
a bit of WWII action, when my DVD drive decides to quit working. Try as I may the thing won't read anything. Restarts,
cleanings, resetting connections....nothing works. So, now I have brought it to work to test. I think it has decided
to quit without giving me a two weeks notice.
So, hopefully anyone who may visit this site will understand that I am truly sorry for the lack of activity, and
accept my apology in light of the information stated above.
Now, on with the update. I plan to begin welding the main part of the chassis for Roll Cage in the next
two weeks. So, stay tuned for pictures soon. I have also updated the component list on the project page. Please,
understand that over time, as components prove themselves better than others, I will adjust my project parts to
better reflect what I believe is the best value for the money.

After a few setbacks on the Rat Rod/Hell Crew case and an email from Darren at Ideazon, I decided
to turn my attention back to the Roll Cage design for a bit. This time, I have created some renders of a
modified mouse to match the case.

After a brief hiatus from updating the project log, but not from working on
the project. I have finally sat down and written a project update. There are quite a few
pictures in this update, but most have been edited to a reasonable size. So, anyone with
dialup should still be able to read the project with only minimal delays.
Please take a look in the "projects" section or go directly to the

After much procrastination and a bit of motivation
from an outside source, I have finally decided to build my
own website for keeping track of my interests. Most of the time
my interests center around pc hardware and building things. The
latter part leading to a case modding habbit. I am sure
that from time to time I will make random posts not related to either.
But, this is my website, and I create the content.
So, to anyone and everyone who is viewing this site, WELCOME! Please send
any questions or comments to my email.
