 . : Project Update
 2.27.2006

The weekend at my in-laws did not result in a missed opportunity to work on the project. Since my father-in-law has a nice MIG welder, I finished building the radiator frame.

  Check it out here.

. : New Roll Cage Images
 2.21.2006

It has been a while since I posted build images of the Roll Cage project, mostly due to it not progressing as fast as I would like it to. It is progressing though. So, go take a look at the small update in the project pages.

If you want to see the update, check out the update.

 . : New Parts arrived!
 1.18.2006

The Roll Cage project has been making progress lately and as with any computer project, new parts must be purchased. The first few items have arrived. Mostly things I will need for the structural part of the case build. Check out the project for a look at some of these early parts purchases.

. : Construction Underway and Roll Cage v2 renders
 1.17.2006

Well, it's been almost 2 months since my last update and lots of things have/are happening. First, I accepted a new position which is requiring me to relocate. This means I have to sell my current house, buy a new house and commute 70 miles one way each day until the process is complete. Not that bad, but hectic. The good news is, I really like the new position and can't wait to get the relocation over with.

Despite what might be presented on the site, I have ACTUALLY been welding on Roll Cage. I am taking my time because of two things. First, I want the case to be as perfect as I can make it. Second, I have a rather crude environment in which to weld. Because of the relocation, I am relegated to the garage floor for all my work which makes the process a bit more tedious. One interesting thing has come from this. I have decided that once I get moved, I am going to teach myself how to TIG weld. I figure, I know how to do Oxy-Acetylene, ARC, and MIG, why not TIG. But that will be for a future project.

So, with respect to posting pictures of the case under construction, I have decided not to post the first batch until I get the external 1.5" tubing all tacked together. I have completed both the left and right sides and will be working on the cross bars this week. If all goes well, I will have images up soon.

I have recently created renders of Roll Cage v2. Nothing has really changed other than sponsor representation. Due to my desires for the case, I have decided to reduce ZBoard representation. This has nothing to do with their product, rather it has to do with what I want for the project. The main change has been to the left side of the case, with the removal of the large Z logo. If you want to see the new renders, please stop by the Roll Cage project page.
